There’s been a lot of misinformation and accusations circulating lately, centered on my apparent failure to pay producers. But I can wholeheartedly say that this was not the case.
I started out in this field too young to understand the technicalities of royalties, advances, and production fees. One could say that I was simply naive since I was a new, inexperienced female artist. The 2 male producers, pxyche & zp3nd, demanded an equal split of the profits between the three of us when my first hit became successful (which is 66% of their compensation, leaving me with 33%).
Looking back, I realize how unfair this arrangement was given my lack of industry knowledge, and the fact that I wasn’t represented by a manager who could advise me on the possibility of being taken advantage of
They went from being my friends, whom I treated with contempt, whom I enjoyed working on tracks with at late nights, with whom I spent days sharing future plans and including them in these ambitions, to their behavior changing significantly after the song became successful. Our relationship grew distant as they treated me differently.
After consulting with a legal advisor, it was decided that they first and foremost profited from the fact that I was entering the field without having any prior knowledge of how rigged it works. Instead of them being truthful as to how fees should be if they were fair, with them knowing that I had no supervision, I insinuated and agreed to this.
